We feel passionately about our impact on the beautiful New Forest. We are trying to be as thoughtful as we can. There are things we know we can do better and we are working towards optimum. If you have any suggestions we will be delighted to hear from you. So that you can have a flavour of what we are trying to do we have listed below how we aim to reduce our waste, pollution, carbon impact and environmental impact:
Our Kitchen Team:
Our efforts are to reduce the quantity of delivery trucks using the roads and the mileage used, thus reducing fuel consumption. With the provision, that we are able to offer the finest quality Food and Beverages, we source the majority of produce locally from the New Forest area.
When these are not available we import not a daily but on a weekly basis.
We use Fair Trade products where no local product is available.
We support local New Forest Marque products (sourced and produced in the forest).
We encourage wildlife into our kitchen/herb garden.
Growing herbs without the use of pesticides.
We collect run off water from the roof to water the garden.
We return the used oil waste to bio-oil for recycling into diesel for local taxis services
Our Front of House Team:
We use low energy light bulbs (reducing our carbon impact).
We recycle over 500 glass bottles weekly.
Our Housekeeping Team:
Your room is cleaned with environmentally friendly products
Your laundry is washed with environmentally friendly products in an energy efficient machine.
We try to organise our day so that we are not wasteful and use machines efficiently.
Your housekeepers will recycle the paper in your room bin
We change your sheets every three days – reducing washing
We give our guests the opportunity to reduce washing towels daily.
